How a NAPCO Wet Electrostatic Precipitator Works

The patented NAPCO Wet Electrostatic Precipitator system represents a major breakthrough in the advancement of state-of-the-art fine particulate control. Centered around precipitator hardware improvements that deliver high reliability and outstanding collection performance., The unique configuration and design of the high voltage collection area provides for better collection efficiency and lower energy consumption. The high intensity corona provides particle charging fields that are two to three times stronger than those of conventional precipitators–resulting in higher particulate charges, higher migration velocities, and smaller precipitator size.

The NAPCO Wet Precipitator System also offers the user maximum flexibility through a choice of modular innovative, adaptable designs that can meet any application or system layout requirement. Depending upon the particular contaminant properties and gas stream contents, the modular NAPCO wet precipitator System can be configured to meet specific customer needs.

The unique design of the NAPCO Wet Precipitator System provides for self-cleaning of electrodes and collection surfaces. NAPCO can also provide for discharge water treatment systems for handling precipitator discharge.

Six Steps to a Clean Stack
  1. The hot-polluted gas passes through the Pre-Scrubber, where it is cooled to its –adiabatic saturation temperature. Particles in the gas stream above five microns are removed and vapors are condensed into a fine mist.
  2. The particle and mist-laden gas stream enters the Wet Electrostatic Precipitator.
  3. The gas passes through air distribution baffles. Small liquid droplets are added to the gas stream from the fog headers.
  4. The particles, mist, and droplets are charged and removed from the gas by the high voltage electrical field.
  5. The particles, mist, and droplets coalesce and drip into the conditioning section and are removed via the drain.
  6. The clean cool gas leaves the Wet Electrostatic Precipitator
